Hands-On in the Flower Field – A Day at G’s Lane
Here at G’s Lane, we love sharing more than just our flowers—we share the whole experience. Whether you’re pulling up in your camper, wandering through the paddocks, or rolling up your sleeves for a bit of hands-on gardening, there’s always something to dig into.
Recently, Kirsti joined us for the full farm experience. She didn’t hesitate to get her hands dirty, helping out with seeding some Echinacea—a tough little flower that adds beauty and pollinator power to the field.
We started by clearing the bed of weeds and grass, making way for the new life to come. Then, as we’ve learned from working the soil in Esk, we added a layer of topping soil. The local dirt tends to form a crust, which makes it tough on tiny seeds trying to break through—so we give them a little extra help.
Now it’s just a waiting game. The seeds are in, the weather is playing along, and our fingers are firmly crossed for a healthy crop of Echinacea in the months ahead.
There’s something special about getting stuck into the work that brings this place to life. Thanks again to Kirsti for being part of the journey—we’ll keep you posted on how those seeds go!
Until next time,
The team at G’s Lane
