Little Critters, Big Role – Wildlife at G’s Lane

One of the things we truly value here at G’s Lane is the wildlife. From birdsong in the morning to tiny critters hiding among the rocks, every creature has its role in the ecosystem—even the littlest ones.

Just the other day, while I was weeding around the finger lime trees, I spotted this tiny visitor perched happily on a rock. He was completely unbothered by me working nearby—just hanging out, doing his thing, and, as I like to think, supervising the weeding job.

Now, I’ll be honest—I’m not one to pick up or hold wildlife, but I’m more than happy to let them go about their business. It’s always a good reminder that the farm isn’t just ours—it’s home to a whole web of life.

Moments like these make me slow down a little and appreciate the balance we’re all part of. Whether it’s the bees on the lavender or the frogs by the water tank, each creature plays its part—and we’re better off for it.

Until next time,
The team at G’s Lane
